SCHEDULING AND PRICING

Testing is available year-round. Our busiest time periods for testing are April through June. If you plan to test during that time period, please contact us early enough to accomodate a full schedule.

We typically do testing at our location/s, however in special circumstances, we can arrange to do testing at your site. Local within 20 miles of Fuquay Varina there is a $10 surcharge plus .20 per mile travel fee. For greater distances, please contact us to see what we can arrange. Off site testing fees may be waived for “group” testing or simply having more than three appointments in the same day at a location.

We are also able to do group testing and speak on a variety of topics to your homeschool support group.

Service Description Price
Woodcock Johnson Basic Includes reading, math and writing assessments with a 20 - 25 minute consultation. Total appointment time is ~2 hours or a little less depending on the child. $90
WJ Basic with Extended Consultation Same tests as above with a 30 – 45 minute consult. This is a good option for those needing to discuss their progress, curriculum or child’s needs in great detail. Total appointment time is around 2.5 hours. $115
NOTE: If your child takes a long time to test, you may need extra consultation time. Some children are very slow test takers and this is not a timed test overall. If your child is unusually slow, your entire appointment may be consumed. The test needs to be administered at a brisk pace to prevent fatigue, but we never rush a child who is working steadily. The total time for the basic test is around 1 hour and 15 min. If the supplemental tests are given, it adds another 20 to 30 minutes to the test. The same is true of adding any set of supplemental tests.
WJ Supplemental Tests When given with the Basic test, an additional selection of supplemental tests can be chosen to answer specific questions about your child’s progress in one of the following areas. This will add about 20 minutes to your test time.
  • Academic: subject area tests, editing and grammar
  • Reading: check progress in specific reading skills
  • Learning Differences/Styles: assess weaknesses/learning styles, screen for learning differences.

Reading Assessment for Early Elementary This brief test for children are reading early or having difficulty learning to read. Scores reading skills only. This is a good test for homeschool children under the age of 7 whose parents need to know how they are progressing. It can also be given mid-year to assess the progress of older children experiencing difficulty with reading. $50
Curriculum Planning Consultation
(with test)		 Most clients find that we are extremely generous with the consultation time. However, if you want to discuss specific curriculum for an extended period of time you may need to schedule more time. In fairness to our schedules, please be aware of these times and help us plan accordingly. $25
(per 30 min.)
New Home School/High School Consultations (not associated with a test appointment) In addition to testing, our associates also offer specialized counseling to parents designing and implementing their homeschool scope and sequence. While we can help parents in any stage of home schooling, this service is especially suited to parents beginning middle school and high school who want help with planning for college admissions, transcript preparation etc. $40 first hour, $25 ea. add.
